Writers' Block.
If anyone knows him, have him drop me a note. I've gotten fairly good about addressing Writer's Block (it's often something in the story itself, but if left to fester, can intimidate authors so it affects everything else they write). However, once they discover the root cause, the dam often breaks, releasing a deluge of creativity.

That's happened to several SOL authors, although, technically, what they actually found was a new girlfriend who's religious, and demands that they renounce all their 'sinful' ways. Typically, when that happens they not only stop posting, but they yank all their online stories and often delete their backups of their stories (if they're extreme enough not to have second thoughts, at least).
