Bear with me I can really only remember the starting plot.
Read this story a while ago about a guy that somehow was transported to an alternate earth. He somehow gives off pheromones diff than other men. He's found by this girl and she kinda helps him acclimate. He stays in her dorm room in college. I believe his father having something to do with it was the last plot point. ANy help would be greatly appreciated
