It's not by Brian in the Dark, is it?

Almost sounds like something out of the Man-Kzin Wars series.

I'm sure this has been asked about before in the Lost Story lists, and the final answer was it had been pulled by the author for publishing on Amazon.

That was my first thought, but The Dizyntk Imperium series doesn't match the plot outline given.

check out this other lost story discussion, it may be about the same story

Sounds like "Close Encounters of the Fifth Kind" by The SlutMan, which has been removed, but was discussed in a thread which gave details of where it could be found.
Check out the one - last entry on 14 Sptember '16, for details. title is..sci/fi alien story, vaguely feline alien, crash landing and a trip to space...under lost stories.

The link you provided pulls up the list of chapters, but the links from there don't work for me.

This capture has working links for at least the first and 35th chapter. I have not checked the others so it may be all there.

@Oyster

Thanks Oyster. Come to find out, I had copied all 35 chapters back in 2015. I knew it looked familiar.

While the swift fox was the odds on favorite, the race was won by the slower (but faster typist) turtle.

@Oyster

I'm getting all but chapter 16, 17, 18. If anyone has a link that includes them shoot me a email.

Thanks everyone. Close Encounters of the Fifth Kind by Slutman is the story I was looking for. Good story but I still cringe at the aliens name :-)
