For all of you who have not read this story yet - please read it - it's worth reading :)

For all of you who have read this story - what do you think about it, about messages behind it?

Don't know so much about messages behind it. I think a lot of people tend to read much more in to a story than many authors ever planned, although I do agree about women & tatts- not appealing.

It's just a great bit of SF IMHO.

Ah, I can post again.

and what about his perception of USA politics and economy (and not only their)?

I didn't really pay too much attention to it.
There are stories where the authors really get on their soap boxes (both on the left & right) and that makes it difficult to get through the story if it's a good one (otherwise i'll just abandon it).
In both Magestic & K2 the politics of either side helps setup & move the story along & is really quite mild in it's tone so I just enjoy the story & go along for the ride.
I agree with some of his points, and disagree with others. Only one or 2 I might strongly agree or disagree with, hence I enjoy the story.

*spoilers* ?

I thought all three books of Magestic were a good read. When an author goes it independently like that, but writes a good story I have no problem supporting them. There are definitely aspects of the story that are recycled due to the way "timelines" work and their rebuilding of them so to speak. However, things stayed relatively fresh through out the books and I loved the detail with respect to the areas where he focused his attention. (pauls good works and jimmy's rescue force)
