Completion of Fold-Space 3 is delayed. First by my wife's illness, then I spent time in A & E with a deep cut in my forefinger - would you believe the bulb in my oven exploded when I tried to change it? Anyway, I get back to the keyboard, and what happens but that my Muse comes up with DD5. DD5, which will probably be titled 'Sabina', is another short story, about 7,500 words as told by a man who has consigned his shrewish wife to the Training Centre and gone shopping for a replacement. Supposedly a temporary replacement. Of course, there's nothing so permanent as a temporary expedient. I'm pleased with it. It remains to be seen what my editors will think, but I think followers of the Devastation Diaries will like it. For now, though, it's back to Andromeda in Fold Space 3.
