Just posted for your enjoyment. It's the longest chapter I've written - it wasn't going to be as long as that, but while I was writing it, some new story threads popped up,and were just too interesting to ignore.
And, in a completely unrelated item, yesterday I gained my US citizenship - after 16 years here, I am no longer an "alien".
