I wouldn't go so far as to say that I was terrorised into not posting on this site, but I did receive rather too much very negative feedback, ( from two anonymous sweethearts in particular), which became so tedious that I changed my name and now post elsewhere. I'm like other authors here: I know I'm not perfect, but what I write isn't terrible either, and some of it is pretty good. One person on the other site has recognised my style, and called me on it, but that's another story (and quite a gratifying one).
What do you do if the trolls strike? Turn off feedback? I thought about that, but it is an absolute last resort - constructive feedback and criticism is what we live for. So I folded my tents, made a noise like a hoop, and rolled away. Cowardly perhaps, but hell, it's my life and it's full of other things besides SOL. Now that the subject has been aired, maybe I'll be back - lord knows I've got a potload of stuff that could be tweaked and posted.
There's no point in repeating what Jay and Om have said: it's concise, accurate, and pointed. But I didn't want to pass up the opportunity to show some solidarity.
