Good news!

I've never liked things that start with the phrase "I have good news, and bad news." So the title of this blog entry is a tiny bit misleading.

However, that's what I have.

For those of you that have been waiting for new stories, I can now say for certainty that you'll be seeing things soon (as in REAL SOON).

Specifically, I am proud to say that I have a long story (beginning, middle, AND ending all written!) called Aimless. Right now, it's in a state of endless editing until I can go an entire trip through the story without changing a word here, a phrase there, or expanding upon ideas. For now, I can tell you it's a new type of story for me (science fiction) which explains the complexity of the writing, but the story definitely fits within the MC genre. I'll write a preview for Aimless a week or so before I start publishing it here on SOL first. The teaser will disappear with the publication of the first three chapters soon afterward (since those chapters will provide a better "teaser"). Subsequent chapters will be posted on a regular basis until the ending.

I also have a few completed short stories I'm not willing to name as yet. I have to review them and edit them before posting.

And finally, I have a new "episodic" story called Class that I will present as a single story with each "chapter" being a stand-alone episode, but with continuity between chapters. This will allow me to add more episodes as I get the inspiration, but not really leaving the story on a cliffhanger or seemingly abandoned if I don't add to it. This story is sort of a tribute story to a fictional story universe. There will be more information when these start posting (on a slower schedule, since each is really a complete episode).

I also have about a few score other stories in my slush pile that may eventually see the light of day, but for now, each has been abandoned after a flash of inspiration had me write a few paragraphs or chapters. (Don't hold your breath about the slush pile stories, though. Only one ever saw the light of day in the 15-20 years I've been writing.)

Unfortunately, I am still blocked on the finale of the Tickets series, so people that have been hoping for a continuation of that series (or its sister story, Dream State), I have nothing to offer on that front. Yet. I still hope to get that last Tickets story written and finished.

However, just being able to write complete stories again is proving to be a big relief to me. I wish to thank everybody that has been sending emails to me during my absence from publishing, and apologize for any lateness in my replies, since I don't monitor the in box very often when I'm blocked. However, every thoughtful comment and criticism has been read and all have been appreciated.

Perhaps I may write about my trials and tribulations (relating to writing) over the past few years at some point, but I'd rather be looking forward for now.
