The Grim Reaper! So here we are with a new story. I am finally in a position to start publishing it. I don't see this story being as long as A Fresh Start, simply because the time frame involved will be much less. That story ran from 1968 through 2022, a period of 54 years. The Grim Reaper will run from 1994 to 2015, only 21 years. It's going to be shorter. I think it will be enjoyable.
For those looking for hot and heavy sex scenes, you won't find them here. I am writing this story as an R-rated version from the start, and it won't get at all sexual for a number of chapters. I made this decision after writing A Fresh Start, which had a number of readers asking for a less graphic story. BTW, that less graphic R-rated version is what was put online for sale at lulu.com and Amazon Kindle. So if you are looking for steamy and explicit love scenes with detailed descriptions of thrusting, pulsing, and spurting, sorry. There's plenty of that stuff out there, but this story won't be it.
I would like to thank in advance my editors, though I won't be naming them until it becomes appropriate. I have always appreciated the kindness and cooperation shown me by the other writers and readers on this site. Many readers have written me about my descriptions of ROTC training, Army life, service in the 82nd Airborne, and artillery duty that I showed in A Fresh Start. More than a few were amazed that I had not actually been in the service and done these things. While I will gladly admit that I come from a family with lots of service members and was in a military fraternity, I never served. I simply was able to find some excellent editors to assist.
Now I ask for further assistance. If you were an enlisted soldier or non-com in the U.S. Army in the 2003-2007 period, was deployed to Iraq in that period, or have been stationed at Fort Drum in that period SEND ME A NOTE! Even if you only have one or two of those traits, contact me! The reason is simple. I need accurate information, more accurate than the general info you can find on Google and Wikipedia. It has been my experience that the smaller the error I make, the more it gets noticed. For instance, with Carl Buckman in A Fresh Start, nobody had very many problems with him being tortured in a Honduran basement, but God help me if I give the wrong address for JAG headquarters! The little details matter!
I did receive quite a bit of assistance in this, but one of my military editors has fallen off the face of the planet for the last two months. I am not complaining, because life gets in the way. Believe me, I understand that. Still, I need assistance on some military stuff, and the sooner the better.
My publishing schedule will be what I did in A Fresh Start. I will put up a chapter every Tuesday and Friday, and post a blog excerpt at that time as well. Blogs usually post before the chapters, since they don't need editorial review on the database. Don't send me an email that the chapter isn't up; just wait an hour.
I look forward to hearing your comments. Enjoy!
