The new chapters have been sent to the Moderators for posting.
The final chapters of the story open with Hawthorn herding Anthony and Stevens into the den to have them transfer the land they control for the subdivision to him and to collect the money that Anthony has there for his getaway.
He is soon ready to dispose of the lawyer, but is reminded that the deeds need to be notarized. When Stevens finishes this, Greg finds the pistol that he was afraid to draw and shoots him with it.
This intimidates Anthony enough that he opens the safe and begins removing the money there until he reaches the pistol kept there. Hawthorn kills him when he tries to use it.
In the meantime, Bill, the twins, and their guys have arrived at the estate and gained admission with their badges and warrants. They hear the shots after entering the house, and Bill leads them to the old conference room.
The twins order Hawthorn to surrender, and he tries to shoot it out with them. After alerting the police, Carry finds the deeds but it is Roy who explains what they are. Carry insists that they keep them shortly before the police and then the Atlanta AIC arrive.
After taking care of things in Atlanta, the four return to Virginia and need to reach an agreement with 'the Family'. On Monday, they layout the deal they have developed to Tony who wants to haggle before before the twins force an agreement.
The four leave to return the rented vehicle, and the twins are ambushed as they leave the rental location but kill the assassins. On returning to Agency Headquarters, they demand to know who they are up against, and Tony explains things before they are all summoned to see the Director. Tony introduces them to his cousins Madelin, the Agency Director. She has the agreements and after reading them, they all sign them and are officially Field Agents.
In the Postscript, Chris tells a bit about the next 13 years, but states that their adventures as Field Agents are a story for another time.
I hope that you have enjoyed Ashley III. At some point in the future there will be a fourth story detailing some of their adventures as Field Agents, but it will be a while in arriving, as I have a number of other stories in line ahead of it.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish all of my readers a Very Happy, Safe, and Prosperous New Year.
I will return when I have another story ready to post.
