Facebook gently reminded me that I hadn't posted in over a week. Sheesh! It was a holiday, man!
Well, it is not a holiday anymore. I've returned from the mountain. I still haven't caught up on email, blogs, or even my own travel plans. I'm about (in the next few days) to leave New Mexico for a while and start eastward for the next holiday.
Still, progress has been made. I've already mentioned that I finished the first draft of "Blackfeather" and will start the edit/rewrite today. In the meantime, I've completed the penultimate edit and proofreading of eleven new chapters of LNDtH that I expect to start uploading by the end of next week. That will provide uninterrupted story chapters every three days well into March.
More importantly, it gets me back into the swing and spirit of the story with my characters speaking to me again so that I can begin writing Part VI. I know some key events occurring in Part VI, but I'm not sure how long it will be and what time-period it will cover. I anticipate only about two more parts after VI but like driving my truck and trailer, I'm never quite sure where I'm going until I get there.
Chapter 101 of LNDtH is a celebratory one but with a cliff-hanger. "And then the phone rang..." No, it's not quite that bad or manipulative, but it is still tense. And it makes me love Brian and Rose and Liz and Nicki and Sam and Court and Jen and Cassie and Elaine and Donna and Sora and Whitney . . . and Rhonda . . . all that much more. And in Part VI . . . Joanne enters again. Oh where will it go?
I hope you all (who celebrate it) had a great Thanksgiving and that your winter holidays are a smash!
