Score bombing

So, after Trudi 1 was coughed up by the randomiser for someone, and after they had read it, took the time to email me, and thus encouraged me somewhat, I dusted down Trudi 6 this weekend, expanding and embellishing as I edited, and put it into the submissions queue this lunchtime.

Went out, came back, looked to see if it was up and available, and found that, without bothering to say why they found the story so disappointing, I had been 'bombed' with a '2' and a '3', though I've not been scored enough yet for it to show to the outside world.

Now, I get it if it's not your thing - there's plenty on here that're not my thing too - but without false modesty, Trudi 6 is well written, has intereseting characters, has a narrative arc that is beginning to undermine what Simon had previously thought of himself, and it doesn't go down the cliched route of teacher seducing/seduced by student. In fact, that's kinda the whole point of what I'm doing with Simon and Trudi, to try to realistically track my way through what could otherwise be a cliched dash to the bedroom of Lolita. But to mark it down so low, and to do so anonymously? Frankly, it disinclines me to continue the story, or at least to look at the options for continuing it someplace else.

So, for now, Trudi 6 might be the end of the road here at SoL.

Meantime, this is what whiskey and latakia were invented for.
