The initial chapters of this new story have been sent to the Moderators for posting.
The new story opens with Thomas, one of the main characters, explaining who he is and some of the facts about the world of 2098. He goes on to explain how he met Leila, and they had dinner together.
During the meal, Leila reveals a number of facts about why she is in Boston, and what has happened to her.
On finishing dinner, Thomas proposes that they get a hotel room for the night, as it will be a very cold and blustery night. He realizes that he must do something to help Leila because she has a huge but untrained Talent.
After acquiring the small hotel room, Leila washes up before going to sleep. Thomas also heals her facial and other minor physical problems. Leila is exhausted and falls asleep after washing up.
Thomas goes out then to retrieve her things. He learns where the gang who hurt her hangs out from some homeless men. On the way there, he calls his favorite Bo staff to him.
After dealing with the gang, Thomas returns to the hotel room, but when he sits on the bed it startles Leila badly, and he needs to reassure her that everything is all right.
The next morning, Thomas has a strong desire to kiss Leila. Later he notices that the 'Book of Dreams' has been there over night just before it vanishes.
Leila is thrilled but confused by the return of her clothing. Following breakfast, they go shopping for additional clothing for Leila. Later Thomas transfers them to Elm Street in Somerville, near the 'Burren'.
Leila is a fairly short story, but it is the lead in to Magic Ink VI, which I have started on. I am also working on several other stories, so Magic VI will be some while appearing.
Enjoy these opening chapters. More next week.
