Mike and Malok Hiatus

First of all, I want to wish every dad out there a Happy Father's Day. This greeting also includes all the non-biological kind of fathers, who play a major, positive role in the life of any child.

Secondly, I have to break the bad news that I've decided to put Mike and Malok on hiatus. I had originally hoped that by changing the posting schedule, that I might be able to finish the story before I had run out of chapters to post. Sadly, that did not happen.

Based upon previous posts, you may remember that I've been dealing with a number of health issues over the last several years that have made writing a real challenge for me. One of the few positive things to come out of all of this for me is that it helped me appreciate what I had been able to accomplish when I was healthy (and gave me the courage to post a number of stories I had written in the past - first at the EMCSA and then here).

I'm still able to write, but no longer have the levels energy or concentration to devote a lot of time to it. When you add the other problems that amateur writers have (fickle muse, adequate time etc.) I really have not been able make a big enough dent in the last few chapters required to end the story.

The good news is that I'm somewhat close ("somewhat close" being a relative expression). I'm still hoping that by the end of the summer I'll have this done. The sad thing is that several years ago, I might have been able to knock out a rough of a chapter in one afternoon. Now it takes weeks to accomplish the same thing (assuming that my muse is cooperating).

While I had never planned to start posting this story, I've grown fond of it and will find some way of finishing it. It may not be a completely definitive ending, but I think readers will be happy with the resolution (and if I can ever get healthy that will leave the door open for a sequel).

Thanks again for everybody's support, feedback and encouragement!!!!
