This is about three weeks earlier than I had originally planned due to posting two chapters at a time for the first twelve chapters, but tomorrow marks the end of Part I of Living Next Door to Heaven. In twenty-one chapters, I've managed to get this crew from fourth grade to being ready to start their freshman year in high school.
Not to fear. Part II starts on Saturday without a break! When I committed to writing this story, I committed to posting without breaks, so I'm still averaging writing 4,500 words a day over the past 84 days of working on this story.
Here's what to expect. On Saturday, I'll post an Introduction and new cast list for Part II. Believe me, I understand that when you have an entire high school, parents, teachers, and others getting in the way, it can be difficult to keep track of who's who. I've organized the cast into four sections so you can quickly tell the relationship to each one. I'll post chapter 22 at the same time, so we'll be right back into the story with no interruptions.
I received a great note from a reader (love 'em!) that mentioned that the guys were harder to tell apart than the girls in the story. I understand. Not sure yet how I'll manage to fix that, but the guys are going to have more to say and do in the next part, so maybe that will help. It's something I'll keep in mind, though, as the story progresses. Obviously, Brian--like you--is much more interested in the girls in his life! (What do you think of that Candace? She's a fireball!)
Well, just wanted to let you all know that just because tomorrow's chapter says "End Part I," don't drop it from your library. Part II will be part of the same story and just continue on. It won't be a new story. Part I bore the title "Guardian Angel." Part II is "The Agreement."
