I'm getting annoyed.
See, I love the game Dragon Age. Good story, fun gameplay. The second game, not so much, but I'm getting optimistic about the upcoming third one. One thing which has kept my interest up in the original are the mods. People have done some amazing things with the game, and there's a great site which collects them.
Anyway, I was poking around there the other week, waiting until I was in the mood to write, when I discovered a new series of mods: Sappho's Daughters. It's a huge undertaking, almost half a gig for just the main mod, which adds fifty or more fully voiced lesbian characters for your female player to interact with. Wonderful! The first link I found was to an older version at another site, and while it was buggy as hell (at least on my Mac), it was damned fun. Especially the computer generated voices! So, I look at NexusMods and see a new version, with bug fixes and actual human voices. Great! I go to download it...
Apparently, for some of us, we're being told we can't download anything over 2MB unless we're signed in, even though we're signed in. Gah! I want my lesbians! There's been no official reply to the bug reports in the forum, so I have no idea if/when this will be fixed. They don't even make a Mac version of the official site downloader so I can try that (I have tried three different browsers).
What does this mean for you, my readers? Well, not much, although I'm pissed, and a pissed Invid Fan might not get more writing done than a game playing Invid Fan. You will get a chapter this week, though.
