Well, the Clitorides awards have been duly presented, and I congratulate all the winners, especially Tedbiker, Argon, and Jay Cantrell.
I did have an acceptance speech written but as I didn't win anything,in fact I only received one nomination (thanks mum), I didn't get to deliver it. No big deal; they also serve who only stand and wait… and get no tip… and at least I now know where I stand in the pantheon of SOL. Am I downhearted …? Not in the least. I know there are a few readers out there who enjoy my stuff and I shall strive to keep them on board with future stories.
I have been in a bit of a non-productive, not interested in writing, state for about six months but I'm just now coming out from that and will bash on with the latest tale in the Jack Greenaway saga…Duty and Dishonour (DD3) the working title. I shall spend more time than has been my wont in setting up the plots, the pacing of the story and the character development, and will ensure that I show rather than tell, in fact to use all those techniques that had I employed in my earlier works may have put me up on the rostrum with the other award winners rather than out the back with the empties.
I will give progress reports on DD3 via this blog but publication on SOL will be some time away. In the meantime I hope my reader will bear with me.
Eventually there will be a new story, just as the South will rise again. Keep the faith.
