This week with Arlene and Jeff:
...The Captain grabbed the arms of his command seat as the ship seemed to groan, vibrate for an instant, then drop back into normal space.
"Now what?" he ground out, but his First Officer was already talking to the engine room.
Impatiently waiting, the Captain stared at the big screen in front of him. Finally, the First Officer turned to him. "The Chief Engineer says they have gained knowledge that will allow them to improve the tuning of the warp coils. He reminds you that he is continuing to test, since he does not have the equipment that Repair Dock has."
"Commander?" one of the bridge crew said, addressing the First Officer. "I have detected what appears to be a small group of asteroids, possibly the result of a small planetoid, probably a rogue, having broken up for some reason. Anyway, there are approximately a hundred of the asteriods, varying in size, strung out over about a light minute or so and almost paralleling our course."
"Put them on the main screen," the First Officer snapped...
Have a goodun;
