Final 11 chapters sent to queue. Give the mods time to process and post them to the site.
Endings are interesting, writing them is problematic. This story leaves our characters in a good place, I think. Readers will have a chance to weigh in on that :-)
Human Man is the last novel in the Man series. I won't rule out a future short story or novella, but that's not happening any time soon. I have other projects to work on. If I had it to do all over again, I'd break Human Phoenix into two novels and restructure the plot. Someday, maybe.
Thanks to everyone who read and enjoyed the story. I had a blast writing it.
Now, if you're asking, "Hey what about...?" then you haven't been a regular reader of this author's blog and I'll recap for you below.
If you wondering why X, Y, &Z isn't happening...it's because Human Man is the sequel to Human Phoenix - as currently posted.
Some of you read the first draft of Phoenix posted in the summer and fall of 2012 (the revised version was posted December 2012).
The primary difference is that the re-posted version eliminated the first two chapters, and two related conversations in subsequent chapters. More words were actually added in the revision than were taken out, but some of the subtext did change.
I blogged about it extensively at the time, but in short - I eliminated the first chapter middle-aged dying guy, the talking thing in the bathtub, and the aliens speaking to the character.
The circumstances of our character's nature are more mysterious in the revision, although there are some strong hints. That said, it was my first novel and the plot & plot resolution were weak.
Human Man is the fix.
