I was reading about the Halloween Story Contest for 2013.
It sounds like a great contest. I wrote something called "Halloweiner" once which was set in the Family Feud Universe - but it was about high school kids.
It's tough to think of a good Halloween story without involving teens because it's not as much an adult holiday to me.
"Dave opened the door for some kids and then gave them each a Butterfinger. He shut the door provocatively and then had sex with his wife until the next time the doorbell rang."
That would be my thoughts about adult time for Halloween.
In unrelated news:
I've just posted chapter 11 for Hard Times.
I won't give you any spoilers in case you haven't read it yet.
However, I'd be curious how you think Crystal, Ted and Patricia should handle what happens at the end?
What is reasonable/plausible and consistent with their characters? What makes for a good story?
I look forward to your feedback.
