The new chapters have been sent to the Moderators for posting.
This week's chapters open with dinner at the Officers' Mess. The ladies entertain some young Officers with the Talent while Mark and Seamus hold discussions with Samuel Moore, the Ranger Instructor. The ladies return later having had a good time.
During their meeting the next day with General Greene, Mark outlines the unit that they propose to create along with future actions against the British.
General Greene requires time to assess their suggestions and requirements. A meeting is set up for the next day. The O'Connells return to their room for an idea session.
They are again joined for dinner by Captain Moore that evening. He is surprised to learn that they have female Officers in their unit.
The following morning, General Greene's staff briefs them on the available resources for their unit to use. At the end of the briefing, General Greene informs them that they have a meeting with the President that afternoon. He suggests having part of them appear after they are admitted to see the President. The O'Connells are prepared to give them more 'dramatic' than they are expecting.
The readers are then introduced to President Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, Henry Dearborn, and Edmund Randolph. The O'Connells provide a bit more of the 'dramatic' than General Green was expecting, but the President finds it very entertaining.
Mr. Dearborn gives a situation report where more historic figures are mentioned. Dearborn has trouble believing the casualty figures from Johns Creek, but the President has a much better question.
A number of historic figures are introduced or mentioned this week. None will have a significant impact on the story except President Jefferson.
Enjoy these chapters. More next week.
