I'm a statistic junkie. Yeah, I watch my stats here on SOL, but I also watch my sales on Amazon, and my weight chart shows I lost a pound between yesterday and today. The Model Student series (so far four eBooks on Kindle and Nook) has sold 237 copies. Charts and graphs. Yeah, Baby!
Here's a statistic that I never expected to see in my lifetime. "Triptych" has now been downloaded over 100,000 times. Looking at all the stats that SOL provides authors, as far as I can tell that means that I have around 2,000 active readers.
I'm celebrating by having an extra cup of caffeine this morning. Partly because I feel a huge responsibility to my readers and 2,000 is nothing to sneeze at. I'm feeling like I really owe you the best that I can produce. When I first started posting my first serial on SOL in December 2011, I was putting up what I considered my "junk writing" that I'd done over the past twenty years. My second posting taught me that the readers on SOL don't respond to "junk" even if it includes hot sex. When I started posting "Model Student" I was overwhelmed with the response I was getting, in downloads, scores, and email. "Triptych" has created an even greater response.
I hope I can continue to provide a good story that keeps you entertained and involved. "Triptych" has been written and all the chapters preloaded to update through January 28. I'm busy at work on "Odalisque" and hope to start posting it in April. In the meantime, I've got several other projects going and will be excited to tell you all about them as the time nears.
Thank you for your readership, your scores, your purchase of my little books on Kindle and Nook, and especially for your comments and email. Here's looking forward to a great 2013!
