I've been going through The Waifs, doing my clean up. Mostly just making the existing scenes flow better, making minor changes, maybe inserting a small scene here and there. Now that the characters are alive again, it's going nicely.
Then I get to a line in chapter ten, and understand.
If you've read The Waifs, you know how it ends. You know what their choices leads them to. And, there, in this one line... is a choice that is echoed in The Bells of Tanah. A choice where THOSE young people went another way. The Bells stories... are the anti-Waifs.
