I'm trying to make sure "A Painful Silence" is properly coded, but am having difficulty with "Level of consent." There are seven alternatives that interest me, but I don't know if any of them actually apply. The levels are Consensual, Reluctant, Hypnosis, Rape, Non-Consensual, Coersion, and Mind Control.
Originally, my concept was that Margot becomes aware that someone else is controlling her mind, causing her to respond in ways that she is internally protesting. Simple. But as the story has progressed, she has developed a split personality. One side of her is repulsed by the very idea of sex to the point of being in pain. The other side not only acquiesces to Frank's advances, but sometimes assists through her actions and words. In addition, her therapist is using hypnosis to control the pain she is in which also works to silence her protesting voice.
So, does having one side of your split personality arguing against the sexual involvement make it a non-consensual situation? Rape? Coersion? And does hypno therapy inadvertently affecting her willingness to engage sexually make it a hypnosis story? Should I just avoid the issue and not post the level of consent yet?
Also, keep in mind that as the mystery unravels, new light may be shed on what is really happening. Hmmm.
