Tunnel of Love, Chapter 4

Cheating wife stories often involve therapists. Rarely is the therapist much of a character, however; usually he or she is basically a plot device. Even more rarely is the therapist a protagonist, with his or her own point of view, character arc, etc. Also, when they are given any definition at all, therapists tend to be portrayed as all-knowing, asexual saints or sages.

Well, meet Dr. Gayle Seymour, whom I launch at you in defiance of all those conventions!

I wanted to write from a different point of view, having been stuck with Mike and Jennifer for a while. Also, Gayle is a counterpart to a protagonist from the original series, TS:MI. If you can't guess "how so" from this chapter, it will become clear by the end.

Gayle is also a proxy for readers, and just maybe, to some degree, for authors as well...
