I know it seems crazy, but no time of year excites me more than the approach of November 1. It's the start of National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) and each year since 2004 I've written one or two novels in that month. Needless to say, I don't do much else during that time.
So to make sure that I don't screw up posting of Triptych, I've preloaded the next eleven chapters (through December 4) so they will post automatically. I'm working on trying to catch up my posts on "Triptych Interviews" as well with "Harold" going up today.
I'm the type of obsessive person who has always uploaded my chapters at exactly midnight Eastern time so they stand a chance of being posted early enough for fans in Australia and New Zealand to read before people in the U.S. wake up. Of course, that all depends on whether a monitor is up at midnight and posting stories. Sometimes they wait for the first posting in the morning.
It might not work the same way with the automated posting. Files enter the posting cue and are cued up by the database. As we discovered in the posting of "Harold," there are sometimes glitches in the database. I want to thank Lazeez for correcting it as soon as I pointed it out. I just want to let you all know that the "Triptych" chapters are all poised to post, whether I'm paying attention or not.
On Tuesday, I'll post the preface and cast list for my NaNoWriMo novel. I'm in the last stage of choosing a working title for it. Thank you for all the suggestions! During November I'll be posting a chapter a day of the new story. Hopefully I'll have my Interviews caught up and posting by that time as well.
It happens that I have two external projects coming in this week, too, so I'll be a busy guy. I still, however, try to respond to every email, even if it's only to say "Thanks!" Hope to hear from you as the new story develops.
