sometimes i wonder how this country keeps running. My real job concerns a part of the national infrastructure responsible for moving huge amounts of energy from one place to another. I'm dealing with a lot of equipment that is nearing the end of its useful life after being installed in the 1950's and 60's and I've been up to my eyeballs in projects.
Autumn is the time of the year before our northbound system really cranks up for the winter load in the north and our eastbound system is winding down from the summer loads in Florida, and so that's when we schedule a lot of work.
Throw in a few examples of 'I told you it was on its last legs two YEARS ago' failures, and you can see where I've been.
fear not, though. The stories are still alive. I'm part way through a chapter of Nikki, then we'll do a chapter of each of the three to tie things up, and it's onward to "Community". and that redhead with the flute.
