Congrats to Waselenchuk and Longoria

Both Canada's Kane Waselenchuk and Mexico's Paola Longoria successfully defended their US Open Racquetball championships yesterday. It extends Waselenchuk's string to five straight championships and a total of eight. This is Longoria's second consecutive win with a total of three. She's had an incredible string of 12 consecutive professional tournament victories in a row over the past 18 months.

Of course, the categories that I'm most interested in are the pro-am Open category for elite players. Pro Veronica Sotomayer defeated Janel Tisinger for the victory in the Women's Singles Open. Aimee Ruiz and Jose Diaz won the Mixed Doubles Open. Women's Age Singles 24 and under was won by Cristina Amaya in the round robin tournament.

These are the matches that much of chapters 18 and 19 are based on, though, of course, I've completely replaced all the players and what really happened. I write fiction! You will hear Karl Higgendorfer talk about his fictional match with Kane Waselenchuk in Chapter 18, though! You can read all the results, see the photos and videos, etc. at Enjoy!
