I'm still posting the Bedroom Rhymes - up to 43 now. There's a nice mix, I think, of shorter and longer verses, some nothing more than aphorisms or observations, others that tell whole stories. The problem with writing rhymed verse in the 21st century is that most of the possible rhymes in the English language have been found and used ad nauseam. Combinations like end/friend, knees/freeze and love/above are as much a part of the language as any single word. One doesn't so much think of them as drag them out of one's subconscious.
In my most recent attempt, however, which I call The Clever Girl, I think I may have finally stumbled on something original.
