I mentioned the story yesterday. It's one that came to me just two days ago, and really it's not finished yet. But I have decided to break up what's written into two stories. Now I guess I should bring you up to speed on what's going on in the story.
My original stories here at SOL were about a group of mostly girls, with some boys thrown in, who attended elementary school naked. When I was first developing Erin Jensen, Jen Earle, and Kacey Greene almost three years ago, it was going to be another NIS story. However, I quickly figured out that I couldn't pull that off for a full week's worth. Instead, over time, that's how the idea for a "Naked City" (thus the nick) started. I then opened with Erin and Jen right before fifth grade. I had done about three or four weeks worth of chapters when the creativity shut down. Basically, it was the same reason that the NIS version never came to be.
Of course, during the time that the characters have been dormant, there were the changes at SOL. Just a few days ago, I got the idea to age the characters to seniors in high school on the edge of graduation. Of course, their siblings were aged accordingly.
Erin Jensen - was 10, now 17.
Jen Earle - was 10, now 18 (fall birthday).
Kacey Greene - was 10, now 18 (Feb birthday).
Andrea Santillo - was 10, now 17 (she'll appear in the second story)
Amy Jensen - was 7, now 15 (just turned 15 as the story opens)
Michael Earle - was 8, now 16. (Amy & Michael are boyfriend/girlfriend)
Keith Greene (was 17 in "Edenton High", now 25), and Shannon Gatsby (was 16 in EH, now 24) married two years ago.
As you'll note in the post title, indeed Kacey does come out in the first story of the new series. And while I really don't want to spoil the plot much, the new series will be called "Erin & Kacey". It will center on our two girls and their new lives as a couple. Their first big date is prom, coming up in a future story.
But in story two, Eric and PJ take their daughters and significant others to dinner, plus a sleepover with no sleeping bags. And Kacey's still so damn excited she can't wait to move in with Erin.
Have a great weekend, everyone!
