This week I got a copy of The Real Mother Goose out of the library, and I've been having fun reading these little verses that are so familiar and strange at the same time. They have inspired me to try my hand at my own brand of nursery rhymes. I have posted the first five. They are very brief, but, I hope, evocative. They will in no way interfere with my work on High School Hookers, which is coming along.
My only regret is that I don't have an illustrator. These things cry out for drawings.
