The last part of chapter 13 in "Paddling" is a Valentine's Day story. I have a few suggestions I would like to make.
1) If your Valentine is gone, I hope you take some time to remember and cherish the good times you shared together. Be thankful for those special memories.
2) If you have been married a long time, don't give in to the doldrums. Do something special for your Valentine. If you are rejected, do it again and again. Don't let it be you who is the one that throws in the towel.
3) If you are just starting out with someone you love, put forth the effort to make your time special. Observe and cherish every little detail about your love. Tell them what you love
4) Try to bring a little joy into the life of some elderly person. Even the cranky ones. You may be rewarded beyond your imaginings.
May this Valentine's Day be a very special one for you and those you love.
