Actually finally

OK. Here's the deal. I've got three and a half stories finished. There's one long one and three short ones. And when I say short, I mean short like way back in 2005 when I first started posting.

You may not care, but I'm going to tell you anyway, because what you're going to see in the next couple of months is probably not what you expected to see, based on my past blog entries. over the last year.

I decided to take a year off to write long stories, because that's all I could write. I tried writing several short ones, and they either fizzled, or turned into long ones. Most of you guys didn't mind, but it bugged me.

Then I got distracted by trying to publish some things at Amazon and Smashwords. That distraction ended up taking up the whole year.

So I didn't get any work done on long stories. Instead, I rewrote a lot of my older stuff so it could be published.

So I got done with that around the first of this year, and I started back in on those long books. I did get one of them done, but Peaches needs to edit that one before you see it. And that's going to take a little time.

So I picked a couple of old ideas from the projects folder and just sat down and wrote them.

And guess what?

I suddenly was able to write short stroke stories again.

I know it's like backsliding, for those of you who like the longer stuff, but I'm really kind of elated that I can do that again.

Of course you may not agree. You may think they're crap.

The point is, you're going to get to find out - finally.

I'm going to post one of the short strokers Monday. I mean I've been promising you'd see something, and I kept telling you it would be long, but ...

This first one is called Showering With Cousin, and it's just one chapter. So it will show up Monday for a few hours on the new stories list and then quietly get shoved to page two and beyond. The week after that, I hope to post another one. I'll do another blog entry on that one next week.

So I guess I'm not doing what I said I was going to do. Instead, I'm doing what I can do.

And that's fun, and fun is why I do this. All that Amazon stuff is because it needs to be done, but it isn't fun at all.

What's fun is writing the kind of thing Amazon won't publish, but SOL will. So that's what you're going to get for a while. There will be some long stuff, but there will be more short stuff too.
