Today I started posting my first attempt at a story, called The Phoenix Group. It's obviously still in its beginnings, and if it works according to my plans it will be the start of a series.
The story has a big bunch of codes, most of them not yet in the story. They resemble what I plan for the story, but while writing I find that my characters don't always do what my planned outline expected them to do. You could say they take over the story, making me wonder if that's what happens to other authors too. Thus I might have to update some of the codes from time to time.
Now I find myself sitting here in front of my monitor like a little child in front of its birthday presents, clicking refresh on the stats pages every five minutes. The most interesting stat for me at the moment ist, how many of the people reading the prologue like it enough to read the first chapter? Currently it's about 80%. I'm not sure if that's a good number for others, but I have to admit it makes me proud.
I hope you like the story and will continue reading it. I plan to post one new chapter per week.
