One more amusing comment

This from a reader who liked the "little nun" in The Mortification of the Flesh:

Loved the German accent too (Wunderbar!!!) on the
elderly nun. Perhaps a fellow WWII veteran who
served with the present Holy Father, who in his
Hitler Youth days, manned flak kannons to shoot
USAAF B-17s & B-24s or RAF Lancasters &
Manchesters out of the sky? Or later against USSR
tanks on the way thru to Berlin????

Interesting, too, that he should call her elderly. She is never described in terms of age. Everyone forms their own impression.
