Peregrinf is my favorite writer at SOL, and he would be on the basis of "Beth: Naked in School" alone. In the past year or so, since he began posting at SOL, we have developed an online friendship based upon a respect and admiration for each other's work. We tell each other our ideas before we get started on a story. I ask him to proofread my work before I post it, and he asks me to do the same. But the help we give one another goes far beyond proofreading: we critique each other's drafts, often at length, offering suggestions on character development, plot points, and even the erotic action. Sometimes the suggestions lead to a little tweaking. Sometimes they lead to substantial rewrites. (And I should say, he's accepts criticism a lot more calmly and grciously than I do.)
So, when you read anything I write from here out, you can be sure that it has benefited from peregrinf's professional eye. Right now, I'm working on a sequel to the newsboy series, featuring young Gretchen, and there is a short scene at the beginning that is better and tighter now, I think, because of his suggestions.
I won't say there is a lot of me in his work, but I am pleased every so often to see him put one of my ideas into a story, though never quite in the way I intended. He always gives it an original spin.
