Great trip. Did touristy stuff all the way. In LA we hit Hollywood, Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, the Santa Monica Pier, Malibu, some of the studios and we took a drive into the desert, to Palm Springs and rode the tram 9,000' straight up the mountain, where there was snow and ice above the desert floor below. Absolutely breath-taking.
Then we drove along the Pacific Coast Highway, north to San Francisco, stopping in Santa Barbara and then the Hearst Castle, before going up into the mountains, where the road is carved out of the side of the mountains. And if anyone saw the news story about the road collapsing above Big Sur, that happened not too many hours after we passed through. Damn!
So in San Fran, we did Chinatown (I tried practicing my Mandarin but my Mandarin sucks, so we found places where they spoke English. We checked out the Golden Gate Bridge, Haight Ashbury, where all the hippies were (I think some of them are still there. EW!), Alcatraz, Sausalito and the Muir Woods and flew back from there.
California is incredibly beautiful, although we found the people a little ditsy. And America is so big. We flew for 6 hours at 500 mph to get from one side to another. We passed over plains and mountains and cities and rivers and lots of farms. It's so beautiful.
We also did some business and I'll talk more about this later but my wealthy friend Frederick is looking to put together a venture capital group and he introduced me to some people there, both in LA and in SF, as he wants me to be the point person. However, first he wants me to get my pre law degree in international studies, plus my MBA. The future's so bright I have to wear shades.
I've heard nothing new from my young friend Sunny in several weeks and I figure either she got bored or got busted by her dad. However, there's enough material to put together another flash story of Emails From Sunny. You scored the first one a 7.98, so I figure you'd probably like to see another.
I'll continue working on my rape/torture story, The Inquisition, but honestly, I'm getting uncomfortable with the whole concept. I'm going to finish it though.
Thank you for all the dating advice. I've decided that since I don't want a relationship with this guy, I need to tell him I just want to be friends-with-benefits. I want and need a boy toy for sex. I have neither the time nor the inclination for more than that. If he can't handle it, I'm a hottie...I have my pick.
It's nice to be back.
PS...there are no notes from the underground. I just thought that was a cool title for a blog.
