I got rid of the blog entries that were about me being sick and missing a posting date and all that, because that's not really news any more.
But I wanted to take this opportunity to thank all of you who wrote such caring notes with your hopes that everything would turn out well.
Basically, other than it taking longer to heal these days, I'm back in pretty good shape and should remain that way for a while. The pneumonia I was afflicted with snuck up on me and hit fast and hard, but hopefully that won't happen again.
Part of the healing process was the really good feeling your well wishes caused, though, so I want to thank you. It's nice to be cared about.
I care about you guys too, and that's not contingent on you sending me flattering email. I appreciate you taking the time to read my work, and I really enjoy the discussions some of you get into with me.
Just thought I'd return the favor.
That said, there is a little news about upcoming events. Peaches, bless her heart, is a volunteer and she's busy most of the time with her web design business. And, contrary to popular belief, she doesn't like everything I write. She's not alone in that. I like to write different kinds of things, and I know they don't appeal to everybody.
With that in mind, I'm going to give the poor girl a break for the next story or two, since they are likely the kind she wouldn't enjoy editing anyway.
Just so you know, there are (at present) 21 chapters to the Babe Bike Blues, which means we're going to start winding it down.
The next one, titled "Scamming The Wives" is based on another author's story, which I liked, but wanted to expand on a little. He graciously permitted me to do that and it's about finished. I want to show it to him before I post it. You'll get all the info on that in the foreword to that story, which only has two chapters. It's another of the "be careful what you wish for" genre.
After that one there's a pair of stories. I'm still trying to write a short stroke story again. I gave that a shot and it turned out long. So I started over and rewrote it, slashing and burning, so to speak. The result was the same story told in short and long versions. I don't know how I'll post those. If I post the short one completely, it will ruin the long one for those who like to anticipate what's going to happen. I may post the long one and then follow it up immediately with the short version.
That pair of stories will be the first time I've dipped my toes into the science fiction pool, though my toes are all I get wet. There is another for sure sci fi story in the works but that's being written with another author, at present, and it won't be ready for quite a while.
I'm also working on two westerns, which are each a little less than half written, so there's all kinds of things to look forward to.
At least for me.<G>
Thanks for reading.
