Here's the short of things. The good news is I was able to land a full time job at a more than adequate wage. (Thats good for me.) The bad news is that I'm working almost 60 hours a week, so my free time consists of coming home, saying hi to my kids so they remember who I am, and going to bed so I can wake up 5 hrs later and do it again. (Bad for my readers.)
I've had some feedback that I should pull my stories down until I can finish them. I'm not necessarily opposed to doing that...(FNL in particular was going to be considerably edited at some point in the future anyways.)
Is this the tack I should take?
New chapter of Bad Company has been submitted. I know it's been a long time coming, so don't bother telling me. I. KNOW. I also know peeps want another chapter of FNL. It's forthcoming. I write when my muse lets me, plain and simple, and not fast enough for either of us.
As an aside, if you've never heard it, check out the sond "Short Change Hero" by The Heavy. That's Bad Company in a nut shell, and I might even pinch that title when I do the inevitable screenplay version.
As many of you are probably aware, I updated Bad Company with chapter 2 last night. I know it was a long time coming, but hopefully my muse has returned in force. I will update FNL next, before chapter 3 of BC. I know I should probably write the whole story before I post it, but I don't. Frustrating for you guys, I know. Most likely, updates will alternate between FNL and BC, unless some chapter decides to just write itself.
So.
I've quit my soul-sucking day job in order to return to being a full time domestic engineer. What does this mean for you? It means I can write again. I'm currently riding out my two weeks notice. After that expect to see things pick up for both story lines.
I made an error in the gameplay near the end of the chapter. I have fixed it and an update is already in the queue. Unfortunately it has not yet been updated and I don't know when it goes up.
So, in the meantime, I'm well aware of how I f-ed up, and fixed it. I don't need any more mail on it. :D (Thanks for pointing it out though.)
