I admit it... I was an asshole.

I didn't get on here and I didn't write a Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays message to you all.

I'm sorry. I really am.

2015 has been a not-too-great year for me and mine. It started with my wife falling down the steps and breaking her shoulder in two places, ended with us going to a Christmas dinner with family only to be exposed to a relative with Bronchitis who didn't have the sense or decency to stay home and in the middle there was a lot of death, sickness, drama and skin cancer.

I will give you this though....

Four people read, reviewed or edited this story. Without them, the story would not be nearly as good as it is. First my beautiful wife of almost 18 years who did the first pass, then three fellow writers volunteered to help; Aroslav, Imagineer and finally, my usual editor, Hermit. All four have my thanks. While they did help, any mistakes are my own.

I have just sent the story off for its final edit. Once I get it back I will do a quick read through, make any final corrections that need to be made, then I will be posting it.

No promises here, but I would think it'd be up by the weekend.

This isn't a tease, folks. This time it's for real.

This isn't another one of my blog entries where I tell you "Oh yeah, I'm writing. Got a story 'bout half way done. You'll be seeing it...." This isn't that kind of blog entry.

The story is written. It's finished. It is short. Slightly more than 4,200 words, just a little more than eight pages in my OpenOffice. It needs editing. So far, my wife is the only person who has read it. I will be rereading it and doing some editing myself in a couple days, then it will be going out to, hopefully, be edited (Makes a note. See if Hermit is still working as an editor). This will probably take a week or more but then the story WILL be getting put up. Right now the story is called "A Classy Lady." It's strictly a working title, it's possible it will get changed. My wife doesn't like the title.

Sorry. No hints about the story. Hope you all come back and check out the story. It'll be my first Completed story in over two years.

In the few short hours since I posted my story request, I have had eleven responses. Thank you very much to all of them.

They all agree it's one of two stories. Either;

"My House, My Rules" by Autofocus

or

"Hiring a Housekeeper" by Misguidedchild.

I have read "My House, My Rules" and yes, it does fit my description pretty well but it is not the story I was looking for. I do believe it was "Hiring a Housekeeper" but I can not be positive about that right yet because I have not yet had time to sit down and start reading it. I have bookmarked it and, actually, it's open in another tab as I write this. For some reason, I thought it was a shorter story. That might be why I couldn't find it, that is, if "Hiring a Housekeeper" is the story I was looking for.

I want to thank everyone, again, who took the time to read my blog and respond to it in such a kind and timely fashion. So... Thank you. :)
