'The Legend of Eli Crow'

Part Two

Chapter Twenty-Three:

Upon their return to Fort Smith, Eli, Duncan and Moses go straight to the courthouse to tell Judge Parker they didn't find any sign of the cattle rustlers because of all the rain.

They meet Jefferson on their way to the judge's chambers; he informs them of a jailbreak that occured late the day before.

The Crow family suffers a deadly onslaught of extreme violence.

“Moses, I’m done. You and Duncan can do whatever you want. I’m tellin' Judge Parker tomorrow and turnin' my badge in,” Eli said as he stared down at the muddy, swirling water.

Part Two:

Chapter Twenty-two

Eli, Duncan and Moses ride northwest, toward Black Mesa,in search of cattle rustlers who have been driving
stolen cattle out of Kansas, through Indian Territory
and down into Texas.

They travel for two days in a pouring rain before finding shelter.

When the rains stop on the fourth day, the Cimarron River Basin is flooded.

Just when they are about to decide they'll never find the rustlers or any sign of them or the cattle, they find the rustlers holed up in a small box canyon. After a brief exchange of gunfire, they make the arrest.

This time, Eli decides to serve up his own brand of justice.
