The popularity of predatory mothers

I'm used to it by now, but I still don't know why Predatory Mothers is almost always the story with the most weekly downloads unless I've release a new chapter of something. (Which has been rather slow this year. It's almost October, and I really haven't done much writing this year.)

Anyway, even if you merge all the Painting Meagan stories together, I don't think they have as many downloads as Mothers even though they tend to have the higher ratings. It just seems odd to me.

Writing schedule

At the end of December, I came up with a planned writing schedule that I thought would get me writing more...then I started dating someone.

I don't think I'll quit writing entirely, but it does mean that my writing schedule will probably be even more erratic than it was in the past. Since I don't know how many stories I will even try to write this year, when I do write I'll concentrate on finishing up Boobiliscious and writing about Meagan and Peter, since I know the painting Meagan series generates the most fan mail.

I was really bummed when one of my favorite authors posted a message like this, so I've put off posting it for a while, but I've gotten a few questions about Meagen in my email recently, so I thought I should say something.

10,000 downloads

Boobiliscious became my fourth story to cross this threshold this weekend. I've enjoyed writing it, so I'm glad people are reading it.

I don't think I really had any idea what to expect when I first posted Samantha's strip poker, but I'm pretty sure I'd have considered a story worth posting if it got 1000 downloads, so I'm always excited when any story passes the 10K threshold.

Finally finished Boobiliscious chapter 18

Man, I got stuck so badly on this chapter for some reason. I can't even give a good reason for what was tricky about the 2nd half of the chapter. Once I forced myself to start typing, things flowed pretty well. The only thing I can think of is that I was making wrapping up the plot elements more complicated than it needed to be.

That's good news for Painting Meagan fans because I plan to start writing the next story in the series after I finish Boobiliscious.

Requesting feedback

I'm kind of in a rut writing at the moment. I'm WAY to far along with Boobiliscious to abandon it, but it's been a long time since I made any progress on it. I haven't looked at the edits yet, but I have received another chunk of chapters back from my editor. I'm hoping I can get back into the story as I apply those edits and get them posted.

Also, since my Halloween story should open up for general viewing soon, I'd like to hear what people think of it. I used a few more characters than I normally would, among other things that were a little different. So I'd like to hear what people think. I'm considering a part two covering what happens when the people still in the house wake up the next morning if there is any interest.
