Based on the late 1980's comics called the "New Universe". A mysterious flash of light bathes the whole Earth at 9:24pm GMT, July 22, 1986. After that, people start randomly developing paranormal oddities. Some are like superpowers, some... aren't.
Tries to be more realistic than the comics, or a show like "Heroes", ever managed.
