Celtic Bard: Stories

Welcome to the world of the Celtic Bard. Most of my writings involve fantasy in some way or another, though science fiction and straight fiction do occur to me occassionally. Enjoy and don't forget to do the reviews when you are done.

Justice Resurrected

The Gods of Titia-Lohr managed two Great Miracles before jealousies and spite turned them one against the other. When the Gods finally realized what their bickering was doing to their creations, only seven of the fifteen races remained. They were the First Miracle and they were suffering under the care of the Gods. The creations of the Second Miracle were scattered, lost to man and God alike. Those unique objects created to allow the Gods to better the sentient beings they so loved. Destiny, however, has a habit of returning what is needed, just when it is needed. And Justice is what is called for in a world where sorcery and enslavement, corruption and vice, crime and war ravage the people who cry to their Gods to save them. Come hear the tales of Titia-Lohr, a world of magic and enchantment, fate and infamy, where a humble outcast can set the world on its head and make even the Gods take notice.

Magic at War

Magic has gone underground since the time of the Rise of Christendom. As such, it is much more subtle than it was in the days of yore. The stories of this Universe reflect that. They take place in an alternate reality not very different than this one and have each of the following characteristics:
1. Magic is involved in one way or another, either subtly and/or secretive or blended seemlessly with modern technology.
2. The main character is either in the military or part of a military family.
3. All of the stories take place sometime between the end of World War II and the present.
4. Any sex is minimal and definitely secondary to the story and character development.
If you are an author with an interest in posting a story in this Universe, e-mail me your pen name and I will open it up for you.

The Dark Wars

Before the Apostles died, those remaining congregated once more to talk of old times when their friend and Lord walked amongst them. During this meeting, they were visited by their departed friend and the Archangel Michael and charged with creating an Order of warriors and scholars and magi to oppose the fell creatures they had come across in their travels. The demons and monsters of the ancient world who would corrupt and enslave Man. These stories are about those chosen men and women who have taken the fight into the shadows where the Darkness lurks, glutting itself on the souls of Humanity.

The Druid Fianna

When a hunter of the innocent comes to Cathrach Dorcha, the Dark City, he kills the wrong woman. Sister of druid Seosamh O'Niall, she pushes him into the arms of the Morrigu and onto a path that leads away from the light and into the dark corners of the city where evil forces stride with ease They are relaxed in the knowledge that divinity once more walks the world and they are protected by it. Seosamh O'Niall, in his quest for vengeance, becomes the first in a new breed of fianna charged with being the protectors of the world against those who would slaughter the innocent and overrun those too civilized to see the darkness for what it is.

The World of the Am'mortal

These stories all have their origin with the story titled The Doom of Immortality. It is a world where the Human race has warred its way into extinction and younger races have built upon the ashes of their failed civilization even as they are watch over by those few who remain as reminders of the elder race. Most of these stories can be read by themselves without even reading any of the others. However, reading the origin story will help you understand who the Am'mortal are, where they came from, and what their purpose in existence is. Clues to the history of The World of the Am'mortal can be gleaned by reading all of the stories, but they are not in chronological/historical order, simply in the order my muse inspired me.

The World of Xeuxondra

Have you ever wondered where the magic went? In the Middle Ages and before, the world was alive with magic. Where did it go? Perhaps as the monotheistic religions and growing nation-states of the world crowded out those of us who could tap into Nature that intimately. Perhaps they harnessed their power to escape to another world. Perhaps they went to Xeuxondra to flee persecution and ensure a future free of fear and oppression for their children. Perhaps Xeuxondra was already populated by other refugees looking for a place to call home in peace. These are short stories dealing with a series of novels I have written but not yet published. Most are unrelated to the novels or each other and merely use a world I created as a setting.
